The Look: Bonjour Crillon Ball! Giambattista Valli sent out a bevy of ultra feminine girlish dresses and gowns perfect for his Debutante clientele of multimillionaire trust-funder front row gals who can afford a made-to-measure $45,000 micro-mini embellished cocktail dress. Gorgeous hand-applied sequin applique adorned most every piece. Lots of micro short cocktail dresses and a strong Hi-lo silhouette influence as well.



Colors: Fuchsia pinks, chartreuse, emerald green, ivory, Yves Klein blue, black

The Look: Designer Giambattista Valli loves a flower motiff. And this Haute Couture collection was no exception. Even though it is supposed to be Fall/Winter, this collection looked VERY Spring/Summer; in terms of its colors, the flower theme, the silhouettes and lack of MINK, wool, and anything else associated with the words "Fall" and "Winter". But, at the same time, if you are a Valli Couture client and can afford a $50,000 cocktail dress for your next Royal Wedding Guest invitation...then, who cares?







This Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Giambattista Valli Haute Couture collection was inspired by porcelain--particularly the ones from Capidimonte, Meissen and Wedgwood. The dresses--not one pant in sight--were a Crillon Debutante's Dream; lots of short puffy and pleated skirt dresses and gowns to make a multimillionaire's very young girlfriend--or red carpet actress--blush with excitement. Anne Hathaway in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013: Wow! you know the Red Carpet is out of control when actresses are wearing $50,000 Haute Couture Gowns to the SAG Awards! Dresses that used to be reserved for the Academy Awards are now up for grabs for ANY Awards Show.



While I love Anne and Giambattista Valli, I am not 100% sold on the combination of this actress in this dress. This is another Haute Couture dress that walked the runway just last week and I think that Rachel Zoe might have gotten a bit carried away in putting this dress on Hathaway.



I'm hoping it looks better "in motion" while she is on stage tonight....What do you think?

The Look: Couture Debutantes need party dresses and Giambattista is your man! Lots of Cocktails dresses, fabulously embellished coats and tulle over satin. Flower and animal prints in sumptuous silks. High-low dresses were big. Colors: black, white, pinks, and yes, "highlighter" yellow (a popular color this season also seen at Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013). My favorite looks were the Watteau-back, mini, long-sleeve dresses: DIVINE.
