Dang Thu Thao was crowned Miss Vietnam 2012 on August 25 in Da Nang. Thu Thao is 21 years old and stands 1.73 m. She is currently a student of Tay Do University, majoring in Finance and Banking. It is unclear she will represent Vietnam in any International Beauty Pageant.

Elite Vietnam is the license holder of International Beauty Pageants in Vietnam. They will select the candidate and submit to the Ministry of Culture and Communication for approval. Dang Ngoc Han, Miss Vietnam 2010, did not represent Vietnam in any International Beauty Pageant while her runners-up did.

The finale of Miss Vietnam 2012 has just finished at Da Nang. The winner of Miss Vietnam 2012 is Đặng Thu Thảo. The first runner-up was Dương Tú Anh. The second runner-up was Đỗ Hoàng Anh from Hanoi (192).
