Monic Marie Perez was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2013

Puerto Rico already has its representative for Miss Universe 2013. Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2013 was crowned on Wednesday night in San Juan, and the winner is Monic Marie Perez, Miss Arecibo.

Miss Arroyo, Génesis Mary Dávila Pérez, was the 1st runner-up; Miss Cayey, Desirée del Río was the 2nd runner-up; Miss Mayagüez, Cristina Franceschini, finished as 3rd runner-up; Miss Orocovis, Amanda Ortiz Rosado, completed the top 5, as 4th runner-up.

Monic was considered one of the favorites since the preliminaries. After being crowned, she told the press that she was in shock, but happy to win, after all, she put 200% of her best into the competition, she told the journalists covering the event.
