RUNWAY REPORT.....Paris Haute Couture Collections Spring/Summer 2013: Chanel Couture

The Look: A runway show set in a forest at the Grand Palais--with trees shipped  tree by tree (yes, kids, that costs a pretty Euro!). Luxirious tweeds, boucle suitings. Designer Karl Lagerfeld said this collection was "neo-classical". It was, inspired by Weimar, hub of German Romanticism in the late eighteenth century, home to Goethe and Schiller of course. I thought lots of the evening dresses were very early 20th Century shaped. There were defined interests in the shoulder, across the upper torso, arms. Structural, architectural. Floral fantasies for gowns It was all exquisite. If you're a lady who can afford a $40,000 hand-made fit-to-you only suit, call the House of Chanel Couture.
